College of Business Education, Tanzania and edTech research group at the School of Computing, University of Eastern Finland (UEF) jointly organise a workshop titled: Innovation and Incubation in African Context

The workshop will have two parts. First, Mr. Godfrey Mwandosya, Assistant Lecturer at CBE and doctoral student at the edTech research group, gives an introductory lecture. Second, a group work session will be organised, where the workshop participants work intensively with various group activities.

Title: Innovation and Incubation Models in Sub-Saharan Africa.

10:15 - 14:00 Group work activities.

The group work consists of the following tasks:

  • Task 1: identification and brainstorming on how innovative ideas are generated
  • Task 2: how should these ideas be evaluated for incubation?
  • Task 3: how your department could, in the future, support students in the process of turning innovative ideas to profitable businesses (e.g. provide training or other support related to incubation)
  • Task 4: the group needs to discuss/work on these 3 topics and then present the outcome of their discussions.

You can participate to the workshop online via Adobe Connect Pro system. Please contact Jarkko in order to sort out the practical arrangements.

Course credits

Master, doctoral and visiting students at UEF are able to earn 1 ECTS credit from the workshop. The course credit is given to those who complete the following:

1) Follow the the introductory lecture on December 14th.

2) Participate to the group work session on December 15th

3) Write a reflection report about the workshop where personal learning experience should be described.
