We are happy to inform you that ca. 50 abstracts have been accepted for presentation at the FINKA symposium. The conference will be held at the University of Eastern Finland from 4 to 6 June, 2014.

The symposium will open on Wednesday, 4 June at 9 am and close on Friday, 6 June at approximately 1 pm. The provisional programme will be displayed on the symposium website in mid-May (https://wiki.uef.fi/display/FINKA/FINKA+Symposium+2014).
For registration, please use the online registration form (a direct link to the form: https://elomake.uef.fi/lomakkeet/8423/lomake.html). The deadline for registration and the payment of the registration fee is 17 April 2014. The registration fee varies according to the status of the participants and it includes the abstract booklet, a symposium folder and refreshments during the symposium days. The fee also covers the symposium reception on Wednesday. The registration fee is 50€ (30€ for postgraduate students) and can be paid by bank transfer or credit card.

The symposium will be held on the Joensuu campus of the University of Eastern Finland, in the Agora Building, within walking distance from the city centre. The university contains four faculties and five independent institutes with approximately 15,000 students and 2,800 staff members. The city itself is situated in the middle of beautiful Finnish nature and boasts lively culture. The surrounding area can be described as a meeting point between two different cultural traditions, one looking to the Protestant west, and the other drawing on the East Orthodox religious tradition.
